15 CREATIVE BLOG POST IDEAS TO GET YOU OUT OF A BLOGGING RUT.
Do you ever find yourself going through phases of having writers block? Every now and again I find myself uninspired and unmotivated with my blog. It’s completely normal to go through these phases and sometimes it’s healthy to take a break but I’ve got 15 creative blog post ideas to get you out of that rut, RIGHT NOW!
1. DO A DIY
People who read your blog tend to want to take something away with them. Whether that’s learning something new or feeling inspired with some kind of recipe. Maybe you’re good at making homeware items? Or you’re good at makeup and hair? You can take some inspiration from my previous DIY’s to get you started. In the past I’ve makeshift my own Makeup Geek Cosmetics palette and created a Pinterest inspired DIY photo board.
2. BE REAL WITH YOUR READERS
Why not let your readers into something personal about your life? I’m not saying spill all the details of your diary but you could let them in on a life experience. Perhaps talk about something that has happened to you in the past. Or divulge in a happy memory you’re fond of. This will enable your readers to get to know you a little bit better.
3. TELL A STORY
If you’re feeling super creative but you’re not sure where exactly to focus your creativity, why not write a short story? I remember back in school when we’d be asked to write up a short story in a 1 hour lesson. It seemed so much for one lesson back then but I bet you now if I tried it I could get the structure of a short story out in an hour. Take inspiration from your surroundings, family and things that have happened in your life.
4. CREATE AN OOTD
Outfit posts are my ultimate favs to see in the blogging community. I love being nosey, seeing how people show their individual style. It also inspires your own wardrobe too. I often see people wearing the same pieces as me but quite often styled completely differently. That’s the fabulous thing about fashion, it’s totally subjective. What one person likes, another may loath.
5. LIST YOUR FAVOURITE BLOGGERS
People are always on the look out for other bloggers to follow. You may know of some corkers that me or the next person hasn’t come across yet so why not share the love. It’s also great exposure for your favourite bloggers to have a link on your blog.
6. TEACH US SOMETHING
Do you know a foreign language? Have some top tips on how to book a holiday on a budget? Or maybe you’re amazing at cooking! Teach us something that we can keep coming back to. These types of posts do really well especially if you’re trying to get a higher rank on google. Think about what people tend to search for on google and turn that into some amazing content for your blog.

I’ve come along way from when I first started but I like to head back to older posts to see how much I’ve improved. If you’ve done fashion blog posts it’s always interesting to see how your fashion may have evolved too! I love a good nosey at these kinds of posts!
9. WHAT I EAT IN A DAY
Whilst we’re talking about being nosey – let us in on what kind of food you divulge in on the reg. Perhaps you follow a plant based diet or you do raw till 4? Or maybe you’re a gym buff wanting to inspire others to get healthy! Even cheat meals…I love seeing what people divulge in when they’re having a day off. Let us in on what sits on your plate.
10. YOUR FITNESS ROUTINE
I’m always on the look out for new gym moves I can implement into my fitness routine. You may have just started your fitness journey or you can teach us a thing or two on how to get fit and toned. Everyone always has something to give on this topic.
11. RECREATE AN OLD MAKEUP LOOK
I’ve seen these floating around YouTube and I love seeing how people used to paint their face. Does anyone remember that nude look, minimal brows and spider eyes makeup look we all used to follow in the mid 2000’s? I think I need a serious word with myself with what I used to do with my face. No lipstick back in those days just straight up concealer lips haha! Let me know if you know exactly what I’m talking about in the comments!
12. LIST YOUR FAVOURITE YOUTUBERS
This one is similar to the favourite bloggers post. Show some love to your favourite YouTubers by sharing what you love about your favourite content creators. Also give the chance to your readers to discuss in the comments section – maybe you’ll even find some newbies to subscribe to! My friend Tasha did a great YouTube version of this here check it out after you’ve read this post if you’d like!
13. ULTIMATE GIFT GUIDE
With Christmas just around the corner why not create a gift guide. These do take a little more time and planning but they’re so worth it. You can even share it around your family and friends to give them inspiration on what to buy one another for the festive season! I recently shared my Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide for her if you want to have a nosey.
14. LIST YOUR ‘RIDE OR DIE’ BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Create a list of your all time favourite beauty products mixed in with products you would never touch again. You can use this as a chance to add in some affiliate links too. Always disclose when you’re using affiliate links though – it shows you’re trustworthy and your readers know the deal!
15. TRENDING YOUTUBE VIDEOS
YouTube is full of inspiration for your next blog post. Jump on the YouTube trending page and see what people are watching. This will give you a good indication of what content is popular. You can use this to your advantage and create some content which people want to see. It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, just take some inspiration from it. You’ll be surprised how much inspiration you can take from other social media platforms and interpret it in your own way!
Hope you enjoyed this post, something a little different to what I usually do but I always find these types of posts interesting especially when I’m in a blogging rut. I always go on the hunt to get inspiration from fellow bloggers or YouTubers.
