I TRIED THE JUICE CLEANSE FOR THREE DAYS, GUESS WHAT HAPPENED?
So today’s post is a bit of a different one. I often set myself mini fitness challenges to make fitness more fun. If you’ve followed me for a while you may have seen that I did the ‘ What 200 ab crunches a day for a week did to me ‘ and the ‘ 200 squats a day for a week ‘ challenge. Most of the time I’m simply curious to what would happen in seven days. However, diet challenges most of the time don’t sit well with me. I spent a lot of my teen age years dieting. I wasn’t body confident so I’d check the latest fad. It wasn’t really fun, restricting myself the way I did. I once did juice plus which was a massive fail. Let me give you a piece of advice, when you have Personal Training sessions give your body what it needs don’t diet as well. There was one session I found myself laying on the gym floor throwing up because my body couldn’t hack it. My PT even told me it was silly to work out that intensely whilst doing juice plus. Once I got a bit older (and wiser!) I soon realised how much sugar is in these types of drinks too. So, it’s safe to say I’ve had my fair share of experiences with ‘fad’ diets. Juicing on the other hand, as in juicing from your home with real fruit and veg compared to the factory made contents which is juice plus seems to have a lot of health benefits.
As you may know I recently moved house – pretty stressful time for everyone so what do you tend to do? Eat takeaways 24/7 and not give your body the goodness it needs. Understandably, I found myself in a bit of a slump. So I did a bit of research into juice detoxing. I wasn’t doing this challenge to lose weight, I wanted to reset my body, detox my body. My body was craving nutrients so I thought this would be a good way of doing that.
