I’ve lived in Manchester for the last 7 years (albeit a year of that was in London) and I often find once you become so familiar with your surroundings you seem to stop exploring as much. Manchester is always developing – new shops, tea rooms, restaurants and bars are opening all the time. Sometimes we get so busy with life we forget to take a minute to realise our surroundings are actually pretty amazing! So, I thought why not challenge myself to venture out and find the best places to eat and drink as a newbie vegan around the North of England. First pit stop is a little, quirky gallery and tea rooms…
G K t e a r o o m s in Salford, Manchester is in the perfect location – just a short walk from Manchester City Centre and Salford Quays the tea room and gallery situates right next to Salford University. They offer a range of breakfasts, snacks and dairy free alternatives. There’s seating both outside and inside. Inside you can pop up stairs to admire local artwork on show. Some of it is even for sale!
If you’re after a bite to eat the cakes look absolutely devine (they even offer vegan and gluten free ones!)
They offer afternoon tea if you give them at least 24 hours notice, a lovely little place I’m sure they would be willing to cater for alternative dietary requirements too. I opted for a Soya latte which was so deliciously creamy and the soya milk didn’t cost any extra!
