When people find out I’ve transitioned to Veganism one of the first comments I hear is “don’t you miss burgers?” or “don’t you miss bacon?”. Well, my friend, not when you have options like this around! I’m hear to tell you about the best Vegan Fast Food place you will find! If you live in Manchester and you’re interested in the Veggie / Vegan scene then you will most probably already know about this place and if you haven’t – WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? It’s ok, you’re here now and that’s all that matters. V-revs in Manchester is a funky, quirky, (some would say slightly hipster-ish) independant fast food restaurant. Set in the heart of the Northern Quarter, Edge Street it’s the perfect location to grab a bite to eat before heading on a night out. It’s got good vibes, good music and good food. What more could you want?

WHAT DO THEY SERVE?
They serve a range of yummy fast food including:
- Vegan burgers
- Vegan hot dogs
- Vegan milkshakes
- Vegan brownies (THESE ARE INSANE!)
- Vegan loaded fries (with bacon oh my gawd).
- Salads
- Vegan Mac ‘n’ cheese
WHAT SHALL I ORDER?
I’ve tried the Barbecue without the ‘e’, Macaroni & Michele’s high school reunion, buffalo the vampire slayer and pizza my heart. My two absolute favs are the macaroni & Michele’s high school reunion and the buffalo the vampire slayer. The macaroni burger is one of my favs simply because Mac ‘n’ cheese is one thing I miss now I’m vegan but V-Revs makes it possible that I don’t have that feeling anymore (possibly because I pretty much live in there now lol). The meals come with fries but if you’re a big eater then I would suggest upgrading your fries (although it’s probably more cost effective to order loaded fries on top of your meal as a side). I’ve tried the Mexican and Vietnamese fries. The Vietnamese fries were absolutely gorgeous! If you manage to save some room for pud (make sure you do because they’re delightful) the bakery [by Tender Vegan Bakery] serves up brownies, doughnuts and cakes. The last couple of times I’ve been there’s been different variations of brownies including a ‘creme egg’ brownie which was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I would advise anyone to take what ever they can get from the bakery because it’s absolute heaven.

As you can see, vegans can eat dirty! I’m so glad I’m vegan right now. Although there’s a way to go with making restaurants and bars more accessible to vegans I think things are changing for the better. I’m so excited for more of this kind of food places to open up in Manchester, now the bar has been set hopefully businesses realise the potential for more fully vegan venues!

I’ve never really tried proper vegan food, my diet is already really limited due to severe allergies so I choose to keep meat in my diet, this food sounds amazing though!!
