Hi gorgeous people. I want to start off today by telling all you lovely lot a massive HAPPY FRIDAY! Since I began on my journey working from home it’s hard to differentiate the weekend from the weekdays because it seems like all I do is work all the time haha. But deep down in my soul I seem to get that Friday feeling. You know the one where your stomach does a little gymnastics show in a top hat and monocle, yeahhhh you know the one! Well after that wonderful imagery – let’s begin on today’s post. We’re talking self love.

LET’S TALK SELF LOVE
It’s hard writing this post because it makes me think of all the times I’ve been SO hard on myself. It’s standard procedure for most young ladies growing up to put so much pressure on themselves, to compare themselves to every single instagram model out there. 1. It’s not healthy and 2. it’s not always attainable. Instead, we need to be kind to ourselves. Rather than constantly picking the negatives in yourself go to over to the mirror (YES RIGHT THIS SECOND BABY)…
LET ME CHALLENGE YOU
Now pick out three things you love about yourself. These three things can be anything. Your nose, your eyes, dat ass. Anything. We tend to look in the mirror and firstly look at the negatives in ourselves so I’m setting you a challenge. Every time you catch that beautiful face of yours in the mirror today you’re going to do me a MASSIVE favour. Tell yourself what you love about you. As though you were talking to a friend of yours. Which brings me on to my next point. You would never be this hateful to a friend so why be so hard on yourself?
I know this might sound cringe to some but in order to take self love on board you need to tell yourself everyday that you are beautiful. Tell yourself you’re confident. And tell yourself you can do anything. I have been trying to be kinder to myself. And that’s not to be confused with arrogance either. You can love yourself WITHOUT being arrogant. I’ve spoken about this topic previously if you want to have a gander here.
Instagram is full of incredibly edited photos these days. Now, I’m all about filtering a piccy with a great app such as VSCO or colour story (the latter I highly recommend by the way!). But some take it to the next level. Editing your body to appear thinner and more toned is not healthy for you or your followers. I’m sick of seeing highly airbrushed images that take away cellulite and wrinkles. Cellulite is normal ladies and if anything it makes you even more beautiful than you already are. Cellulite doesn’t mean you are fat! I’ve seen ladies who are size 6 and 8 with cellulite. It’s womanly. Pretty much everyone has it and it’s completely normal. You know I actually saw on instagram a blogger who edited her photos so much she would edit herself on to completely different locations or edit birds into her photos ect. Let me know in the comments if you agree with this kind of editing I’m always up for a discussion.
I hope if there’s one thing that you have taken from this post that you’re beautiful. Remember that.
PS. I wanted to dedicate this post to some special lady bloggers who inspire me in life. The beautiful Rae the beautiful Charlotte the beautiful Charlotte Jonsie the beautiful Natasha and the beautiful Jemma
