Hi guys! So I thought because I’m STILL in absolute awe that I managed to meet Megan Ellaby a week today at her incredible charity clothes sale I’d do a little write up and tell you how I found it. Megan was raising money for the families and victims affected by the devastating Manchester Terror atttack which left Manchester heartbroken in May this year.
WHAT BLOGGING IS ALL ABOUT
I’d heard that Megan Ellaby was putting on a charity event through her Instagram and Twitter and was planning on going. I was originally going on my own until the lovely Natasha from www.love-laughter-fashion.blogspot.com contacted me on Twitter and asked if I was going. I jumped at the chance because we’d been speaking via social media for a good year or so but never managed to meet up face to face. Me being me, a shy girl at heart – I’ve never actually been to a blogging event let alone met up with a fellow blogger so this was a pretty big deal for me. Rest assured Natasha made me feel at complete ease when she approached me outside Primark in Manchester. We hit it off straight away and now I’m so glad I experienced the Megan Ellaby event with her.
MEGAN ELLABY – THE EVENT
We arrived at 1pm prompt outside Jimmy’s bar in the Northern Quarter in Manchester. A queue of quirky looking fashionistas had already started to form – so we piled up towards the back, waiting patiently and eagerly in line. Me and Natasha could not wait to get in and see what kind of gems she was selling, and see Megan of course! As we were ushered inside the event it was absolutely heaving. Jam packed with gorgeous, trendy clothes, shoes, bags and accessories. Once you walked past all the gorgeous fashionistas browsing the garments the bar was to the right selling the Ella-Bee cocktail special (which Megan herself assured us was nice). To the left were the make shift tills and at the back they had a blow dry pop up stall and make up stand. Right next to the bar stood the beautiful Megan Ellaby herself chatting to other guests looking as stylish as always. As soon as me and Natasha clocked her we got giddy. This is one of many things we share in common – Megan being a MASSIVE fashion influence on our style. Natasha strolled up and we took our next opportunity to express how amazing the event was and even managed a little piccy. She managed to raise a VERY impressive £5400 for the ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund‘ WELL DONE MEGAN!
WHAT DID I BUY?
So…did I mention Megan is a HUGE style inspiration of mine? Well, that said pretty much everything in her sale belonged in my wardrobe, lols but Imogen got bills to pay so unfortunately I only managed to pick up three items. BUT, these items I will treasure forever not only because they’re fab but also a little token of some very fond memories I will hold on to! I picked up a pretty, embroided rucksack for £5, a beautiful mermaid-esque over shoulder bag and a cool Black Sabbath long sleeved tee which I’ve recently used in a fashion lookbook which is going to be live on my YouTube channel on Wednesday 🙂 I seem to be loving dungarees at the moment if you’ve seen my ‘How I style Dungarees‘ post you will see a running theme.
